Ramesh Srivats- Marketing Guru (@rameshsrivats)




 My video chat with Ramesh Srivats, amongst the smartest people i have met... Ramesh is a "master of twitter" with +40,000 followers of his "lets put da" philosphy... I am one of them!  Here he expounds how marketing has changed  over the last couple of decades... " there is a reason why Apple and Google are the hottest brands today, as compared to the mass-media era when the Pepsis and the Cokes were the IN brands"... Ramesh has his own Media company- TenTenTen which creates cool apps that help cool brands connect with cool customers.

With an IIT/IIM (Madras, BTech Computer Science, IIT JEE all india rank #53) bluechip pedigree, Ramesh is advertising professional who’s made a fine art  of the usage of puns on Twitter, Ramesh's Twitter stream has won the Best Indi Microblog award, and he captures his original one-liners in ‘Shortputs’, an extension of his favourite phrase “Let’s put, Da”, a phrase he says helped him get through college unscathed. These ‘shortputs’ give you a glimpse at how his mind works, of how he captures the zeitgeist in just 140 characters.

NanduMadhava- Entrepreneur Mdhil.com (@mhealthtips)





Very interesting chat with Nandu Madhava a TED Fellow and an entrepreneur who gave up a Goldman Sachs career after a Harvard MBA to set up and create a mobile based health information startup in india called MDhil

Nandu is the CEO and Founder of mDhil, a social impact start-up which provides basic health information over mobile phones. mDhil launched SMS health information over several Indian mobile carriers in 2009, and has since expanded into mobile web and original health videos geared for the emerging market consumer. Previously, he was part of the management team at OfficeTiger, a Chennai-based business process strategy firm acquired by RR Donnelley. Nandu has also worked at Goldman Sachs & UBS in asset management roles where he was part of a 3-member team that managed over $1 billion in diversified assets. He is an undergraduate of the University of Texas and received his MBA from Harvard Business School.

Hisham-Wikipedia India




In this video i chat with Hisham, a colleague from my Colgate (he was in Unilever) and Infosys days (we were both based out of london with Infosys) about Wikipedia's plans for india.

Hisham has since then worked with the Gates foundation on AIDS initiatives and is currently with Wikipedia. here he speaks about the worlds largest free knowledge project- with 500 Million users and one that's run entirely thro volunteers, 100,000 of them... he talks about the Foundation's aims to expand their scope in India and his efforts in doing that.

In Wikimedia's Barry Newshead's (Wikimedia's chief global development officer) own words- "India is a priority for the Wikimedia movement as it has a strong and growing community of Wikimedians building the Indic and English language projects. Steven, a law graduate from Harvard, talks about his 18 months in India expanding Zynga's india presence aggressively- making it the fastest growing part of Zynga- and also about his various passions, including his newly spawned entrepreneurial community in Bangalore- "Startup-Connect" and his Philanthrophic interests.

Zynga is a social network game development company located in San Francisco, United States.They develop browser-based games that work both stand-alone and as application widgets on social networking websites such as Facebook, Orkut, Google+ and Myspace.

As of February 2012, Zynga's games on Facebook have over 240 million monthly active users. Francis Pisani- Around the World on an Innovation Tour




I chat with Francis Pisani, (http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Francis_Pisani)- yes, he rates a wikipedia entry- a writer, filmmaker, journalist, teacher and blogger who writes for Le Monde, a leading daily in France, who is in India as a part of his world Innovation tour- he is doing a Phineas Fogg with "Around the World in 80 Days", except that he is searching for nuggets of innovation from across the world.

Here he talks about his observations on the first world vs the emerging world, and on large vs small countries and the similarities and differences...Francis also talks about the innovation he has uncovered on his blog-available here 

Dr.Francis Pisani is a graduate of the Institute of Political Studies at the University of Paris in 1966, and he obtained a Master of Public Law in 1964. . In 2000, he acquired a doctorate in Latin American studies in political science at the Sorbonne Nouvelle Paris III .

He started out as a journalist in 1968 with the AFP and covered Saigon during the Tet offensive , and Prague during the Soviet intervention. As a journalist and regional correspondent for Latin America  he has written for many publications: Le Monde , Le Monde Diplomatique , Go ,The Progress , Liberation , The Unit , The Morning , The Latest News from Alsace , Montreal's La Presse , Ouest-France , Le Provençal , Le Nouvel Observateur , Journal de Geneve , Panorama , El País , Reforma ... He also has created content for radio: RFI , Radio Canada, Radio Suisse Romande , Belgian Radio and Television ...

In 1999 and 2000 he was reader in the University of California (Berkeley). In 2003, he lectured on journalism and the Internet at the Stanford University . He teaches on the same subject in 2004 at the University of California (Berkeley).

He works as a lecturer and consultant on the topic of the social impact of new information technologies and communication.

Francis Pisani writes articles on the subject in his blog  : Transnets , hosted on the website of the newspaper Le Monde . The site Wikio class in June 2007 the site Transnets as the 9 th most influential blog  of the blogosphere French.

In this video, Anuraj shares his experiences of the recently concluded- Feb27 -Mar1, 2012- Mobile World Congress, Barcelona -  - the biggest event for the Telecom and Mobile world.

Anuraj talks about the new emerging trends such as the emerging market for Appcessories , exemplified by the Nike Fuelband - - talks about his meetings with John Chambers, Eric Schmidt, Ben Verwaayen and Sunil Mittal.

He also talks about the underlying clash between the OTTs and the Operators and the intermingling of the Suits and the Jeans-this MWC included the AppUniverse and had a galaxy of developers.

Other things- the noteworthy Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 launch -  - which had a lot of artistes sketching your image on the tab all across Barcelona, the John Chambers dance on stage before the keynote and the emerging market focus that continues to drive the telecom world....

Jitin is the Founder, Managing Director and CEO of Snipple Animation. Jitin has more than 16 years of experience in industries ranging from banking, IT Services & online social media to animation & filmmaking. He has worked in India, UK, Europe, Middle-East & Africa and the United States. Apart from Snipple, he is also the Founder & CEO of Elpis, a vertical social network focused on environment, sustainability & community development, and Occam Technologies , a mobile applications and gaming company.

Earlier, Jitin was  a Vice-President at Infosys Technologies, a leading IT Consulting & Services company, where he was the driving force behind the company’s expansion in EMEA. Further back in the 90’s, Jitin was an FX derivatives trader at Citibank N.A.

Jitin is an avid art collector, a keen movie buff, a voracious reader and a fitness enthusiast. He owns an extensive film and music collection. Muthuraman-Riverbridge Financial Advisory

Muthu and Satheesh, cofounders of Riverbridge, are my batchmates from IIMB. They have started 2012 with a bang, and have closed 4 deals...and counting!

Muthuraman served as Director – Ratings at CRISIL Limited, a subsidiary of Standard & Poor’s, until September 2008.  He is presently the co-founder of RiverBridge Investment Advisors Private Limited, a boutique financial advisory firm that he founded with Satheesh, another classmate from the batch of '96 of the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore.

RiverBridge assists mid-size corporates in raising capital, largely private equity, venture capital and mezzanine funds.  RiverBridge also works with several reputed global Private Equity funds as their buy-side advisors in sectoral research and identification of suitable private equity investment opportunities.

Muthuraman has long experience in the credit rating industry, having worked in CRISIL for over 12 years.  During this period, he was largely responsible for new product development, criteria research, interaction with key regulators and strategy.  He also played a key role in feasibility study and subsequent establishment of a successful new regional credit rating agency in the Caribbean, headquartered at Trinidad & Tobago.

DrBobbyJohn- State of World Health




Dr. Bobby John is one of the four principal partners of Global Health Advocates (formerly called Massive Effort Campaign). Global Health Advocates is a global non-profit organization that has been established to advocate for and catalyze the emergence of a social movement against AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria and other diseases of poverty.

Dr. John originally trained in India as a physician with the Indian Armed Forces Medical College. He opted out of his Army commission and joined a small village hospital near Pune in Maharashtra State in western India. Dr. John worked for five years in the village as a combination surgeon and obstetrician. During these years, he was exposed to the hard realities of poverty, ill health, and the disasters of AIDS and TB.

Subsequently, Dr. John set up and headed World Vision India’s countrywide AIDS program. In 2002, he joined the Swiss-based Massive Effort Campaign as its Southeast Asia director, and subsequently became its president. He works closely with the numerous national governments and non governmental agencies in the region to establish, fund, and manage transparent, comprehensive, national health and education programs aimed at eradicating AIDS, TB, and Malaria.

Dr. John serves as the high-burden country advocacy advisor for the Gates ACTION grant managed by RESULTS.

Nurturing Entrepreneurs- SanjaySwamy




In this video, I chat with Sanjay Swamy, Serial Entrepreneur and Angel Investor about his views on Investing, Entrepreneurship, India and his Personal Journey.

Best known for his leadership role at mChek, the path breaking startup in secure payments, Sanjay has trodden the tough and demanding path of an entrepreneur all through his career.

After completing his bachelor's degree in engineering, Sanjay headed to Paris where he learned to cuss fluently in French, while getting a Master's degree, one of which proved to be more invaluable than the other over time. An active member of the community, Sanjay is a Rotarian and a charter member of TiE. Sanjay also played a prominent role on the UIDAI project under the leadership of Mr. Nandan Nilekani. His life-changing app for 'how to win an argument with your wife' sadly continues remain in slide-ware and unready for field trials. He lives in his hometown, Bangalore with wife, Tulsi, and son.

Navneet Gosal- India Venture Partners Founder

Navneet is a seasoned technology entrepreneur turned angel investor & venture capitalist. He relocated to India from US in 2010 to manage portfolio companies for the venture capital fund, India Venture Partners (IVP) that he co-founded in 2009. Navneet currently manages two portfolio companies for IVP – Gensol Consultants, a clean energy solutions provider located in Ahmedabad and Your Kids R Our Kids, a corporate day-care provider located in Bangalore.

Siddharth Mangharam - Founder & CEO of Floh.in
